Leadership and Management

Core Management Skills - Project Management Fundamentals

Core Management Skills - Project Management Fundamentals is a 5-day practical programme designed using the Project Management Institute (PMI) framework to build strong project execution discipline among Management Trainees. The programme helps participants understand how projects are initiated, planned, executed, monitored, controlled, and closed in a corporate environment.
The course is aligned with the ELITE Management Trainee Programme, which aims to strengthen capability, workplace effectiveness, professional readiness, and future leadership potential. The programme focuses on practical project management tools that participants can apply during rotations, assignments, improvement initiatives, and cross-functional workplace projects.
Participants will learn how to define project scope, manage timelines, coordinate stakeholders, track risks and issues, communicate progress, and present project updates professionally. The learning approach uses templates, simulations, case studies, group work, reflection exercises, and workplace-based application.
Throughout the programme, participants will work in teams on an ELITE Capstone Business Challenge that progresses through the full project lifecycle from Initiation to Closure. Participants will apply project management concepts and tools to develop a complete Business Improvement Proposal addressing a realistic organisational challenge relevant to intended organisation.
